To Be Inspired

A Solo Exhibition

As a child, I remember riding in my grandma's car listening to Earth Wind & Fire feeling at peace. Hearing "what you know about this', and never having an answer but always curious of what there is to know. As I grew, I began to dive into the phrase "back in the day" and that's when an admiration for the culture began. From the music I listen to, to the fashion that catches my eye, down to the creative ideas that come to mind, the 70s, 80s and 90s are the golden years that give me great inspiration.

"To Be Inspired" is my token of appreciation for the timeless eras that shape my way of life today. When I hear Teddy Pendergrass' 'When Somebody Loves You Back', come across a vintage Naomi Campbell photoshoot, or watch a Spike Lee joint, it gives me a sense of comfort. It's safe to say that art is universal and it comes in many different forms. I hope this exhibition, my art, fills you with a nostalgic feeling and an appreciation for the times we may or may not have experienced.
